Multos International is a leading developer of products and solutions for the smartcard industry.

The most visible aspect of our business are the modules, or chips, that we provide to over 30 card manufacturing partners. Our technology is the choice of many of the world's leading financial institutions, as well as prominent system integrators and resellers. For more than 10 years we have supplied the banking, transit and government ID sectors with products based on MULTOS - the world's most secure, multi-application smartcard operating system.

Our product mix is the most comprehensive in the industry. It ranges from the 4K contact-only step/one product, developed specifically for nascent EMV issuers, through to a wide selection of dual-interface and contactless products with numerous EEPROM sizes. In addition, our R&D team has collaborated with major payment schemes, transit providers and government agencies to produce not only the MULTOS-based chips, but also the applications and tools necessary to implement world-class smartcard installations. We continue to work with issuers in all market segments to define products that reflect future requirements.

The development and sales of secure smartcard technology are supplemented by a technical support team that strives to provide the highest level of customer-focused technical and business support. Dispersed around the world, these specialists are dedicated to ensuring customers receive timely support and training at every stage of their smartcard programmes.

Who we are

Multos International was created in the fall of 2008 when Gemalto N.V. acquired the smartcard-related assets of Keycorp Ltd. This acquisition included the smartcard division which continues to provide MULTOS products and services to the financial services and government sectors. It also included Multos Ltd, the company that operates the remote activation service and high-security facility (KMA) at the centre of the MULTOS security architecture.

The market positioning of Multos International remains the same: to be the best provider of smartcard technologies to the industry. Going forward, Multos International will continue to develop and provide products and services that are reflective of the open nature of MULTOS.
